BIOGRAPHY

Susan Barnes is a Contemporary Country Singer/ Songwriter who is energetic and highly motivated in achieving her goal as singer, songwriter, musician, entertainer and recording artist.  Susan is a very active and energetic, vivacious person who loves performing for an audience.

 

The journey began for Susan at the early age of 10 when she began to imagine herself on stage and performing as a singer.  This dream for Susan wouldn't begin to happen for another five years when at the age of fifteen she started singing publicly.  After singing in choirs, ensembles and solos at various functions, Susan's love for singing and performing grew.

 

These opportunties to perform and sing really established who Susan Barnes was.  It was then that Susan made a decision to get serious about pursuing her goals in the music and entertainment industry.  Susan knew that music and entertaining were her passion and life and with that took the opportunity to network with singers, songwriters, musicians, producers, sound engineers, actors, etc.

 

For many years, Susan was an active member of the British Columbia Songwriters Association (BCSA) who encouraged her to network with local songwriters to perform their songs which later allowed Susan to open up artistically and write her own songs.  Susan is currently an active member of SOCAN (the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada).

 

While living in Vancouver, Susan performed at many Songwriter's Showcases, coffee shops,  restaurants and even performed at a Fashion Show and a Music Festival.

 

More recently Susan has relocated to Vancouver Island from Vancouver and is even more focused on writing her own songs, practicing her guitar and more preparation for upcoming singing gigs, music and songwriter jams.  In the last few years Susan has performed at many venues in Chemainus and Nanaimo, British Columbia.
